Ranon is kicking goals with his employment at MATO Australia

With Mai-Wel, Ranon’s journey to employment commenced with early intervention and skill building supports when he was in Year 11 and 12 at Kurri Kurri High School.

After graduating Ranon participated in Mai-Wel’s Transition to Work to learn skills and build his capacity for work, which resulted in him securing employment at Mai Wel Enterprises.

In this role Ranon gained confidence, skills and qualifications to support him to achieve his goal of open employment. He was supported to:

  • Complete the General Knowledge Test to get his Learner Driver License
  • Learn social and communication skills, team work, problem solving, self management and technology
  • Gain training and education in WHS, manual handling, machinery operation, forklift license and stores operations.

In January 2023, the Mai-Wel Disability Employment Services team started supporting Ranon to find a job with a local employer. By July he was offered a Trade Assistant role with MATO Australia!

Ranon enjoys his job and is working toward a new goal of increasing his hours of work and completing further training in his field.

Congratulations Ranon!
