Jason’s Work Experience Journey: Progress at We Care Connect Thornton

We’re excited to share the success story of Jason, who has been actively participating in a work experience program with We Care Connect Thornton every Thursday morning. As part of a 12-week program running from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Jason has been diligently completing a range of tasks that contribute significantly to the daily operations of the organisation.

Each week, Jason takes on various responsibilities, including sweeping both downstairs and upstairs of the warehouse, vacuuming the reception area, and ensuring the kitchen is clean. He regularly tackles tasks such as scrubbing the sink and performing additional duties like cleaning toys and cutting cardboard. Jason’s enthusiasm and commitment have been evident throughout his time at We Care Connect.

This work experience opportunity, which began on July 25, 2024, was facilitated through our Post Placement and Academy connections, with support worker Crystal coordinating with Alison, the Coordinator at We Care Connect. Jason’s goal is to enhance his resume and secure future permanent employment by gaining valuable workplace experience and learning essential job skills.

Jason has demonstrated a strong work ethic by arriving on time, adhering to his daily tasks, and adapting to additional responsibilities as needed. His ability to adjust to changes and maintain a routine every Thursday highlights his dedication and readiness for future employment opportunities.

Looking ahead, Jason’s continued growth at We Care Connect Thornton is setting the stage for a promising future. With the skills and experience he’s acquiring, Jason is well-positioned for permanent placement with a future employer. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Jason and are proud of the progress he has made.
