Meet Darren, Service Lead Industry Products
In 2002, Darren came to Mai-Wel wanting a career change from Boilermaking and Quality Control. 18 years later, Darren still loves working at Mai-Wel Enterprises, now in the role of Service Lead Industry Products.
In his time with Mai-Wel Enterprises (MWE), Darren has worked on designing competency-based training across the organisation and has helped MWE gain accreditation under the AWPCS (Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme). Darren was also Mai-Wel’s first Training and Development Officer.
While Darren does not see himself as an expert, he has experience in boilermaking, ship building, mining shut down work and quality control. He also has training in structural design and a Diploma in Disability.

Meet Scott, Service Lead Business Services
Scott commenced his working life in underground mining and tunneling where he completed a Graduate Certificate of Lean Manufacturing and Systems.
Since joining the Mai-Wel Enterprises team in mid-2020, Scott has been working to develop his workplace knowledge and understanding of processes to provide value to the business and production teams.


Simone, Supported Employee Services Officer
After beginning her working life in finance and insurance management, Simone was drawn to a career in the community services sector so she could be part of supporting and guiding people with disability to live their best life.
Before joining Mai-Wel Enterprises in the SES Officer role in late 2018, she worked as a Support Worker and Community Living Team Leader assisting people first-hand to live their lives independently.
As Supported Employee Services Officer, Simone liaises with our supported employees on a daily basis to support their professional and personal growth.
